cheers Bev
Some of those tunes were terrible (sorry) but there were some decent ones as well. However freebies are always ace, so thanks for sharing that with us.
Perhaps we could collect some other (legally) free downloads here as well. I'll start with the obvious...
bravecaptain
/
'distractions'
and
'2005 singles club'
www.bravecaptain.co.uk
20 top songs available for free - I know that we've all got them already, but if some outsider stumbles upon this thread, then those are the ones you should get first. There are 7 other free tracks in the 'download' section too, so make sure you've got them all...
Wilco
/
'More Like The Moon'
EP
http://smartley3.wilcoworld.net/ep/helper.html
There are 7 tracks on this EP that may not be as good as some of the album tracks, but they're definitely worth checking out, especially if you're a Wilco fan. You can also print your own CD cover.
Oh well, I was also going to post links for the free Saul Williams, Radiohead and Charlatans albums, but it looks like they're no longer available, so I'll post some more later.

Don't apologise - I've not even unzipped the file yet!
Was just spreading the word. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

While I was trying to find the free Saul Williams album, I bumped into this...
Nine Inch Nails / The Slip
http://theslip.nin.com/
It's the new (?) NIN album apparently.
I haven't listened to it as NIN isn't really my cup of tea, but perhaps someone's interested in this. _________________

Cheers TB - I'd forgotten I'd posted that! It's an exciting album, though 'TDK90' is still the stand-out track. _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |

Another "name your price" (read: free) album courtesy of Laura Kidd under the alias 'She Makes War':
http://shemakeswar.bandcamp.com/
Not even played the first track yet and I'm impressed by the amount of stuff the artist has packed into this. Even the free version comes with bonus tracks, artwork, promo photos and making-of videos. _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |

You can download a free track called
'shark ridden waters'
by Gruff Rhys on his website...
http://www.gruffrhys.com/shark-ridden-waters/
Only listened to it once so far but I thought it was well worth the trouble to download. _________________

This is a really special one:
http://www.ooberman.net/jukebox.htm
Legal and free - almost the entire Ooberman back catelogue: 3 albums, and some EPs, mini-albums, b-sides etc.
If you haven't heard 'Shorley Wall' you haven't lived.[/i] _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |
