I saw The Coral open for Supergrass tonight and was very disappointed. After all the hype i thought they were a bit shit. Am i missing something or is that a common consensus? Dreaming of You was a good song but i thought everything else was forgettable.
Supergrass were great though. |

Yes I think The Coral are very overrated _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

I'm not sure I agree but the reason for this is obvious, "Dreaming Of You" is such a fantastic song it makes people judge the Coral largely based on that one song.

I love the Coral. Especially "Skeleton Key" (the EP version, not the completely-out-of-place-on-the-album version).
"Dreaming Of You" I agree is fantastic. As is the new single.

The lead singer seems to reckon that he's the natural heir to Lee Mavers. i dunno, maybe he's his son or something.. _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

Hey don't knock the coral, they're mega. For a debut album by a bunch of kids 'the coral' was pretty class, although maybe a bit patchier than all the accolades heaped on it. |

I saw them supporting Doves, and they were alright - they didn't play Dreaming Of You though, which was the only one i knew at the time, but did a huge extended jam in the middle of Goodbye that went on for years...
Besides, a few scouse bands we could mention have had only average first albums and then gone onto great things! _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

The Coral's first album was a breath of fresh air after all the self indulgent bedwetting shite we've had to put up with recently. (Step forward, Coldplay, your execution date is set).
Anyway, check out their new single "Don't Think You're the First". Brilliant. |

Caught the Coral over here in the states, a wicked good time. All nice shaggy haired brit boys -I couldnt believe how freshly young they were, not like American stars grown up at 14.
They just had a good time so we had a good time. It actually seemed like they enjoyed themselves more than Supergrass who just seemed to play their songs like it was a chore. |

"Wicked Good" huh? No matter how much we insist we don't say it, we do.... _________________ "Even I know the solution: love, music, wine and revolution..." (magnetic fields)
