I like this approach and am going to steal it to waste 10 minutes of my working day:

Currently

Maximum Minimum - Kraftwerk
Human After All - Daftpunk
3 Feet High and Rising - De La Soul
Greatest Hits - Orbital
Greatest Hits - Creedence Clearwater Revival

All time classics
Substance - New Order
Giant Steps - unknown Brit Pop band
Dubnobasswithmyheadman - Underworld
Automatic For The People - REM
Liquid Swords - GZA

Maybe Kingsize instead of Giant Steps. And maybe Moon Safari instead of Dubno....

Album I'm gonna buy at lunchtime:
probably the Hot Chip one. Am tempted by Gnarls Barkley but have played Crazy to death and am bored with it now. its going to be number one yet again this week, its been out forever, who's decided to buy it this week? why didn't they buy it before now? fools!

Would like to know what you think of Hot Chip - saw them at the Fleece and one song they were really really good 2 songs they were really dull, one song the were really really good 2 songs they were really dull etc. I expected them to be more dancey like LCD Sdsytm but most of it was pretty middle of the road - "Boy From School", "Krap Kraft Dinner" and "Over & Over" were comfortably the best songs. Did like the fact they were selling a live bootleg for a fiver, and they were happy to sign it to. Which was nice.

Erm....i'm not sure. I saw them supporting LCD soundsystem last year and thought they were ace. But I'm not convinced by the album, its all a bit mid tempo and samey and a tad soul less (should that be one word? soulless, no that doesn't look right either). If it had been released by someone like Zero 7 I'd be pouring scorn on it. There are a couple of really good tracks on there though, Boy From School is great and so is Just Like We Breakdown.

I'm off to pour scorn on stuff.

Gnarls Barkley - a short album and a good album. Short albums is the best albums.

Rather Ripped - Sonic Youth. They're not as spikey as they used to be but i still love them.

Is it really four years since we did this?!

1.) Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
2.) Kingsize
3.) Beaster
4.) dubnobasswithmyheadman
5.) Forever Changes.

Look at the date of the first post... it's been more than seven years Neutral

and time has passed quickly
the years have been kind to me
the memories go but my friends
will always be around
