music magazines are pretty much shit.
the best way I've found to "discover" new bands is just to load up your Hotline client or KDX (

) and browse around on people's servers, downloading stuff you've never heard of.

I just love the NME, but only because I've won the crossword 3 times in the last 3ish years. Alright it's only £35 and it's to spend in HMV but it's still great to get the vouchers thru the letter box and to rush into town to buy those albums that you were never quite sure about or have slipped down the must-get list.
Thinking about it though I'm not sure if this policy makes any economic sense in the long run.... |
