if one finds that spark of inspiration should one drop everything in one's life, no matter how important, to follow it to its natural end?
Confused

Hard to know, what sort of inspiration are we talking about?

Gonna paint a picture/ write some songs/poetry/novel inspiration......or

Gonna be the president inspiration.......or

Gonna fuck off on a three year backpacking nonventure.....or

Gonna join the Taliban.........or

It's hard to know....and what does "drop everything" mean?

Friends/family/career/house/life/education?

Obviously there are only a few sparks of inspiration that will lead one to dropping those things.

I think if you 'drop everything' then you would tend to find the inspiration would stop coming at some point...

You need a life in order to have something to be inspired BY... or some pricks to kick against...

helps if you're not that keen on what you're leaving behind. if you're close to friends and family then you'll not lose them. houses, jobs can be replaced (although not easily as i'm finding out).

there's probably little difference between being inspired, hitting a brick wall in your life, or realising that you spend most of your leisure time heroically off your tits.

a change is as good as a vest, though.

I think that felling of wanting to "drop everthing" (perhaps I should re-phrase), is in most people - but I agree with Bev in that, you need to have some sort of normal life (Im not choosing my words well here) to want to revolt against all the injustices and the like.

In a capitalist society it's pretty impossible for most people (unless they are loaded with cash!) to do it and survive isn't it? After all, there is no real freedom.

Part of me would love to follow the dream.....but part of me is too scared....part of me thinks i won't make it and.........people have always told me you have to be realistic and sensible about things.

Maybe it's good enough to just to have the inspiration to want do something and hold onto it.

What the hell am I talking about?! I think I'm going around in circles here.
