I haven't seen fish and chips in newspaper for years. I think health & safety or trading standards or environmental health or some such other organisation banned it from use.... though I'm sure there's a few back street chippies out there that still do.
Anyway it used to be 2 or 3 days old and it was part of the fun reading yesterday's news while eating your chips (especially if you got the sun...) |

I had a so-called 'fish burger' from our corporate subsidised work canteen yesterday...
.. and on closer inspection it turned out to be one of Friday's fish-cakes that they'd just battered and re-heated...
