You're on death row. You're going down. The usually sadistic, overweight prison officer shows his softer side by allowing you a week of freedom before Old Sparky hydrolises all your unsaturated fats into margarine.

These are the choices you have to make. For your last week in this world you are allowed to choose one (specific) location and to pack a bag containing one book, one record, and one slap up meal for the final night (the rest of the time you have to eat the usual prison fodder). you are also allowed to bring one unspecified treat of your own choice (drugs, foot spa, computer game, member of the opposite sex etc.)

What do you do? What do you do?

Location; Fiji
Book; Ullysees
Record; Deserters songs
Meal; Darraghs baked bean and macaroni casserole served with a bottle of Powers
Treat; Massive bag of sticky buds and/or Lana lang from Smallville

It would be a profound couple of days. I tell 'ee

Yeah it wa gonna be either Ulysees or Gravity's rainbow, cos there are so many little bits you can read as little extracts if you've already read them. If you had a week to live I reckon you could only take a chance on a book you've read before and enjoyed.

Of course you've been called that before, it's a nickname that begs it.

I've downloaded it, you are right, it is ace! Will have try whole album. I always thought they were dead rocky, but obviously not, sounds like Belle & Sebastian... Are you really into them then?

"Popular", their 1996-ish hit was quite up-beat, that may be the reason you think that.
I do like them quite a lot but I've only mostly hear this last album so I can't speak for their body of work.

Love and Peace
