				  | my top 5 would probably be: Whatever – Oasis
 Corporation Man
Ice Hockey Hair – Super Furry Animals
Fool’s Gold – The Stone Roses
Motown Junk – Manic Street Preachers

and the only others that spring to mind are:
 Deadweight – Beck
 Marblehead Johnson – The Bluetones
Are You Blue Or Are You Blind? – The Bluetones
 From The Bench At Belvidere
 Better Living Through Reckless Experimentation
 Flying – Cast
 Machismo – Gomez
Suicide Alley – Manic Street Preachers
The Masses Against The Classes – Manic Street Preachers
 Closed For Business – Mansun
Yesterday Today – Ocean Colour Scene
 Pop Is Dead – Radiohead
 Stay Together – Suede

although some have appeared, or since appeared on soundtracks and best ofs. Or on Japanese / Australian (etc.) releases of UK albums, as in the Manics' 'Masses Against The Classes'

not gonna even try working out which Beatles tracks weren't on (proper) albums!

er, although Strawberry Fields Forever and Hey Jude do stand out...

actually, feck... those two songs alone are better than most bands' whole career!

oh, started off thinking of good ones, and somehow, the list morphed into one of A-sides that weren't on albums, whatever the quality of them. sorry!

I think most of Radiohead's b-sides are superior to POP IS DEAD.

				  | Boo Radleys - From The Bench At Belvidere bravecaptain - BLTRE / Corporation Man / Captain America
Super Furry Animals - Ice Hockey Hair
 Suede - Stay Together
 Feeder - Just A Day
 Travis - Coming Around
Smashing Pumpkins - The End Is The Beginning Is The End
Garbage - The World Is Not Enough

(Actually those last two were cheats because they were on movie soundtracks to "Batman And Robin" and "The World Is Not Enough" respectively)

And then there's those singles that were never on the band's actual albums but featured on their "Greatest Hits", "Best Of" or "Singles" CD's.

Manics - Masses Against The Classes
Carter USM - Born On The 5th Of November
 Smashing Pumpkins - Untitled
 Ash - Envy

				  | "i love MTV, i love it when they're shittin' on me." William is fucking Shakespeare! Its on 'hate rock 'n' roll, which is somewhere between a single and an album. they marketed it as an ep, but its got like 12 songs on it. also see ''

  SNAKEDRIVER

  " and.....
 1) joy division - love will tear us apart, the only one i'll credit numerically
 happy mondays - hallelujah
U2 - hold me thrill me blah blah blah
 neil young - winterlong
smiths - panic, ask, 'shoplifters of the...'
 clash - bankrobber
aphex twin - come to daddy, donkey rhubarb
sex pistols - no fun (Iggy!)
smashing pumpkins - eye, end is the blah blah blah (if we're not counting 'best of's' I'm not counting compilations)

				  | what an excellent thread good people....
ignoring the fact that some are on compilations ('cos that don't count) here's mine.... so far.

 A House - Slang
 Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
 Beck - Deadweight
Boards Of Canada - Imagine A Beautiful Place In The Country
 Boo's - Bench At...
Billy Bragg - The Boy Done Good
Brave Captain - Better Living Through...
 Carter USM - Rubbish,
 Bloodsport For All
 Embassy - Box Star AM
 Family Cat - Tom Verlaine,
 A Place Called Home
Fellacy + Fusion - The Groundbreaker
Harvey's Rabbit - Is This What You Call Change?
 Leftfield - Not Fogotten
Madness - Sun & The Rain,
 Wings Of A Dove
Mansun - Take It Easy (their best song by miles and miles)
 Massive Attack/Mos Def - I Against I
 My Bloody Valentine - Swallow
 Orb - Belfast (Wasted Vocal)
New Order/England - World In Motion
Popguns - Crazy (though its fabtastic b-side Gesture is better still)
Prefab Sprout - Lions In My Own Garden (thought its fabtastic b-side Walk On is better still... I sense a thread developing here!)
Super Furries - The Man Don't Give A Fuck (my fave single ever),
 Ice Hockey Hair
 Underworld - Born Slippy
The Undertones - You've Got My Number

and there'll be more if my memory can get deep enough.
