Strange happenings yesterday – was on my way from rough trade to selectadisc in soho to pick up the new enon album and something by gang of four, when I walked past the boulevard pole dancing club. Not the most noticable of places, none of the brash bright lights of the other clubs around there, but for one thing – blaring out of the doors was wake up boo! I can only imagine the dance that was taking place in there. Did I mention it was also my birthday?
And today, of course, is the first birthday of advertisements for myself (recently found a great review at
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=MISS70309010746&sql=Ag9dsylo4xpbb
, don’t know why I hadn’t seen it before).
Monday is my birthday, Tuesday is her birthday indeed. |

AND it has dawned on me that the closing track on Electric Soft Parade's last album is inspired by Bullfrog Green, and in particular the line "blue balloon for you, red balloon for her". It is called Red Balloon For Me, and on the Mercury Music Prize awards last year they said the Boos were a big inspiration to them, and bravecaptain is mentioned in their album sleeve. Good lads!
AND have you seen this "thread"?
