quite sad... x

From Heavenly Records:

It’s with a great sadness that we’re writing this - news has just reached us that our friend Paul Cannell took his own life last week. Paul was an artist from East London who was introduced to us in the early ’90s by Darren Penney, former manager of Flowered Up. Paul had seen the band and approached them with a view to providing some artwork. We immediately loved him, he was a great guy and a great artist. He went on to do the sleeves for Flowered Up’s “Phobia”, Manic Street Preachers “You Love Us” & “Stay Beautiful” and the Heavenly bird logo, still used on all things Heavenly. Paul’s most famous work is probably with Primal Scream on “Screamadelica”. The iconic sun logo is a detail from one of his paintings, as are the sleeves for the “Higher Than The Sun” & “Don’t Fight It Feel It” singles. Heavenly staged an exhibition of Paul’s artwork, Cannellism - Art Will Eat Itself (HVN18), at the Heavenly Record Shop in Covent Garden. Paul was also a musician, starting out with the Kenny Process Team. His last band, Crawl, released a single on Creation in 1996. Paul had been living and working in Cornwall until recently.

A good friend Steve who died from meningitis aged 30.

Thanks for everything you brought (and who also helped us set up our gigs and taught me office cricket!)

i thought getting rid of the concord was a stupid move, besides there's been far way more accidents on airliners than concord jet-liners.

they should replace all airliners with concords. Wink
