well i am actually listening to a mix i recorded and then put on cd a few weeks ago at this very moment and it is sounding real fine so i can share the tracklisting with you if you're interested.

ps been listening to air and kelis albums this afternoon - advance copies i think cos i am important or something. air is better than the last one but not as good as the one before. and kelis, well on first listen bravecaptain is right - it is where it is at just know, or at least it's where it should be.

make this:

transposer - comin to get u
zabrinski - koala coordination
sugababes - freak like me
gold chains - let's get it on
pleasure feat justine frichmann - don't look the other way
ladytron - blue jeans
bassomatic - fascinating rhythm
super furry animals - dim brys dim chwys
flaming lips - in the morning of the magicians
polyphonic spree - light and day (the bees mix)
the bees - no trophy

i am of the opinion that with a mix tape/cd you shouldn't just try to fill the thing - you should make sure it is the optimium length. you know like some albums have two tracks that aren't all that good and make it so with 10 minutes still to go you want to turn the album off cos you're bored of it and you miss the good track at the end cos you've wasted 8 minutes listening to the two crap tracks which have made you think fuck this i'm gonna put elo on instead and after 10 mins of thinking that you do it and like i say you miss the good track at the end.

I disagree really. I do a mix tape for my car about every 6 months. I think with a little thought and plenty of playback to get things sorted into a good playing order, it's very easy to create a good 90 minutes of music you are happy to listen to for a long time.

My Selection 2001 tape still gets a regular play Cool
