I don't know if this is a trend where you are, but it is where I am. More and more people are getting more health concious. This means, anything that has fat or sugar is considered poison...when humans have been living with fat and sugar for ages upon ages.

Fact: the human body needs fat, eat too little fat and it will produce fat to help you along. Too much is bad, obviously, but vegetable fats like olive oil are great.

Fact: a little sugar is needed, maybe not for your body but for you soul!

I don't care what great yoghurt or fruit you can come up with, it will never be what good chocolate is...and even bad chocolate, if you like it, can make you happy...and happiness is good for the body.

I am tired of hearing people dissing fine ice-cream and every single food (cos if you check ingredients, everything's bad for you) except roots and broccolis.

A happy person is surely a person who enjoys life and eats everything, who eats the veggies and the cakes and the meats, not someone who lives forever because she only ate soy beans or whatever.

Indignation ended. L&P

Tha's not wrong theer lass!

My personal favourite is beer.

A little bit of what you fancy always does you good.

However, too much of a good thing always leaves one with a hangover I find. Wink

Anyway thats not the point of my post, this is - Some of the swedes we met are being given 12week health plans by the companies that employ them. Is this a tend over there? They seemed quite happy with it but I'm not sure i would be!

I don't really know, but there is a trend in which companies/organisations are 'caring' more for the health of employees. For example, where I work I have right to free activity on work hours, which is good, but it's not forced so I don't have to.
The real issue isn't always that they care, it's that it has been put on the political agenda that a lot of people are being sick from work and it's costing society a lot. The government is trying to solve it by forcing people to stop being sick. The real issue is, less people work and the people left have to do more, so it basically doesn't work, therefore they burn out and have to be away from work.

I also think that because we enjoy social rights than most countries people feel more at ease taking time off work, they're more taken care of financially. Where in say France you'd force yourself to work despite being ill here you can afford staying home.

Annnnyway, so everyone wants to show how caring they are about their employees' health. L&P
