				  | I think Morientes is going to be ace. Ya bastards why can't villa sign people like that. Beattie looks a little overpriced now doesn't he. _________________

 heh.

you never wanna miss Liverpool vs United, but I'd say this is the case more than ever on Saturday

I knew there'd be a cloud to my silver lining of getting a ticket for Gruff Rhys solo for Friday night, considering kickoff on Saturday is, well, too early for those with hangovers

this raised a smile or 41, at least:

				  | I bet the spaniard will get a really serious injury after he's played about three games. In fact I may even put some cash on it. I must say though, it's still hard to think Chelsea paid that 10 million for that useless tosser Sutton all those years ago. Slightly overpriced I feel. | |

				  | For the good of Liverpool FC and the well being of Morrientes I promise not to
 a) put him in my Fantasy Football team or
 b) bet on him being first goalscorer tomorrow

as this always seems to lead to players becoming crap or getting injured. Please god let him be as good as I think he'll be.

And never mind 10 million for Sutton, didn't Rangers pay 12 million for Tore Andre Flo?!?

				  | he's a liverpool striker, he's bound to be injured within days.
wasn't tore andre flo quite good, sometimes? he nutmegged dominic matteo once, i seem to remember. maybe not worth £12m for that, but we're not talking el hadji diouf levels of money wastage i don't think.

				  | Isn't Diouf playing alright for Bolton at the moment? He's only on loan isn't he, we can get him back next season to help us defend the European Cup. | |

he's scored a couple of goals. don't know what his overall performances have been like. benitez clearly didn't like his attittude, so i think the best we can hope for is to get back some of what we paid for him. earlier in the season it looked as though we'd be struggling to get someone to take him off the wage bill for us, nevermind a transfer fee, so hopefully that's changed at least...

european cup? did you see the watford game?

				  | I'm not giving up on Diouf, we paid so much for him, he's been African footballer of the year 24 times or something. He will justify that fee eventually. Plus, he's really good on Pro Evolution Soccer and has forced Cisse out of my starting line up. | |

				  | i suppose i have given up on diouf, but it's possible he'll come good. he's obviously got ability, but he could never turn that into consistent performances with any end-product. and he's never been a prolific goalscorer, so for £10m you need a hell of a lot of assists. | |

				  | He should never have teased us by scoring twice on his debut. He's still young and I suppose he could come good eventually but 10 million was a lot to pay for someone so unproven who didn't even score that many goals in France.
If we'd made the right signings that summer we'd have won the league, in the first few months of the season we were playing well and I really thought it was going to happen. Then we lost to Boro and didn't win for weeks on end.

				  | i'm with the w on this one. he has, alongside renaldo, got one of the more smackable faces in the british football. diouf that is, not dave.
the best thing about the morientes transfer is that the money real madrid get from us will be used to poach everton's best player.

 i'm feelin' that one, me.

evryone is invited to my house on saturday morning to watch the game.

 see you there, here.

				  | This week just keeps getting worse and worse. If only we'd sold Traore to Everton in the summer. | |
