Black Honey by Mainline - or the 2nd song, Once More (Because Of You) on their new single? it's been playing a fair bit on BBC, XFM and Virgin radio, so I'm wondering if anyone here has heard it...

Black Honey - their debut single - was listed in the last issue of Q magazine as one of the '50 essential downloads of the month'... even the NME(!) just called the title track "fantastic" and Bob Harris on his BBC radio show said recently: "...Some amazing new singles coming out in the early new year; Athlete, 13 Senses, and from Dublin, a really excellent band called Mainline... Of all the new things I've heard over the last two or three months, this is one of the absolute standout tracks, I think this is fantastic... It's a very dynamic record, dark actually, slightly dark, very brooding..." [then he played the 2nd song, before continuing] "...I think this is a fantastic single... and it's not the highlight track, actually, it's a sort of double A-side; Black Honey, and that track, Once More (Because Of You)... And I love the review of their live gigs; 'a euphoric rush of lights, melody and white noise', and I can just imagine that; I haven't seen them live but I think they sound terrific, and I'm going to play this a lot..."
(~ transcribed from the mp3 I made of the stream while it was still in the show's archive Razz )

I've seen them supporting Primal Scream, Death In Vegas and Ian Brown in the last half year, so maybe someone else has heard the band, or at least the single??

did you all vote, then? or did you all 'vote you'? Wink

I think their singer might even be a Boo Radleys fan, coincidentally. But I'm not sure where I got that from

You scatch my back and I'll scratch yours.

(well, it's the other way around in this case but never tamper with a good cliche)
