At least they had more positive words for Mainline last week...

they were reviewing a band called Absent Kid who they basically say look like a baby deer pushed in front of a car before it's learned how to use its legs

and then continued:

Dublin's Mainline have no such problem. From the opening thundering bass rumble or recent single 'Black Honey', they are the Bejaysus and Mary Chain. Round their way it's all back-lighting, drone rock and a total obsession with Spacemen 3, the Velvets, early Bunnymen and white noise. It might be obvious, but there's a welcome innocence about them. They are the band BRMC could have been had they had charm and magnetism to match their intent.

yes, it's unbelievable to think of the hacks who actually have to make their living grabbing their ankles and blowing this sort of swill out...

*counts cash*

Rumours have been circulating that the band's new costumes will be robots, which Gruff admitted was close to the mark: "There is gonna be something but it's gonna be post-robots. It's very futuristic, whereas the robot is history. The thing is, this thing is so new it doesn't even have a name." - what a fantastic quote

they've put it back a week, so it's no longer the day after my birthday. Sad

i read an interview that said the new stage costumes would be electric. i'm not sure quite what that means. it said they were still sorting out the details so that they wouldn't get electrocuted if someone threw beer.

Thanks for that disco. I'll try not to be individual or have an opinion from now on. Apologies for any further posts on here that might be at odds with your thoughts.

Sincerely
Kinks

Maybe you have heard me state my opinion in the past that I have loved the Furries and Radiator is one of my all time favourite albums? Is my music taste shit because I'm underwhelmed by an album by a band that I put on a high pedestal?
