Hello there,
So I just about finished my 'March' song in time, it's now up on my web site, "With You Tonight"... free to download...

http://www.mixedcasesspaces.co.uk/Music

It's a much more mellow song than last months, an instrumental with picked guitar and wind instruments, hope you like it!

Cheers, hope everyone is well!
Mark.x

p.s. ta for the myspace message Tommy!

Cheers Tommi!
Hmmm, April tune is going nowhere fast... I've been too busy with plays and films and so on (and actually having a job again of course!). I've done some of it at least now though...

...and another one!

My song for April. A bit of an experimental one this time, I recorded lots of bits of songs and then hacked them all together on a computer. Kinda worked... Hmmm! See if you can spot the Weaponized sample (I knicked it from the start of the song and now use it as a 'drum' sound in my drum machine/sampler thing!)

hmm... i'm still not sure if there's something wrong with my speakers or is this song just very very 'experimental' indeed. Laughing

well, it's not a bad song at all, it gets better towards the end... and no, i couldn't find the weaponized sample (yet)

nice one, keep 'em coming mixy!

well i think this is brilliant. fair play to you.

when i get time i will do an amazing remix of it which will make you famous.

i like the structure, the idea and the music - if it is helpful i think the vocal should be more solid and confident in the first half of the song but that would be the only improvement i could suggest.

okay mark i have spent the evening reworking your track.

it is like a sandwich, with my bits as the bread, and your bits as the jam.

you can listen to it right here:

Wow, I'm honoured that you made a remix of it! Ha!
I can't listen to it today as I'm at a PC in someone elses's office, then I'm in a play tonight (first night, scary!) but I can't wait to have a listen...!

Cool Mark x

I listened to it last night!
Thanks Sparky, I like it, see what you mean about it being a jam sandwich. Are your parts from another song you did, or are they newly created?
It works well, more coherent than my version, certainly! Confused

Mark.x

p.s. can I put it on my site at some point please?

all i did was cut up a few bits of your song and start building something around them. i just messed about for 3 hours trying to make them into a completely different sort of track and that's what was left at the end.

the bits are all new of course and i just made stuff that i thought would fit with that last part of your track, and i tried to make stuff fit the mood of the lyrics to some extent.

anyway it would be cool if it ended up on your site, i would be pleased with that, and look forward to hearing the next one too.

...and another one.

This one's a goodun. It's more like a proper song, one that you could just play with one guitar if you wanted and sing along to it. It's also a happy, summer song.

I hope you all like it! Very obvious Weaponized sample in it this time too! I have it as a drum sound on my drum machine now you see.

Also, Sparky's mix of my last song is now on my web site too, thanks again Sparky! I like your version better, too Wink

Enjoy the sunshine people!

Starting to feel a bit daft continuously ressurecting my own thread... but...

My mp3 for June is now on my site for anyone who fancies a listen! It's made up of various samples, with guitar, synth and vocals added over the top...

(...and also, if you haven't listened to 'May' yet then that's well worth a listen I think!)

Cheers everyone,
Mark.x
