Really? That bad? I always imagined they would be half-decent live, especially as Gary Lightbody's supposed to be quite a talented bloke (see: old Snow Patrol classics like "One Hundred Things You Should Have Done In Bed" and the excellent Reindeer Section albums) _________________ "It's too beautiful to stay inside..." |

They are a woeful act. They get way too much airplay, to the point where I just cannae escape.

My Tune of the day is
The whole of the Gnarles Barkley album.
Look, don't debate me okay? I know what I said.

well the streets album came out here today so i'll have to say that when you wasn't famous is my tune of the day. On the snow patrol thing, i saw them a couple of years ago a little before 'run' took the US by storm and they were great. I went to see them again after they got popular and they were shocking. the new songs they played were crap and by the sound of the new single i am a bit upset with them. I really like all their albums so far but i have a feeling the new one is going to be boring and shit. i'm kind of liking the subways though. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |

Cock/Ver10 by Aphex Twin is the greatest tune I've ever heard.
Today.

Tom Waits ~ Take It With Me
Phone's off the hook
No one knows where we are
It's a long time since I
Drank champagne
The ocean is blue
As blue as your eyes
I'm gonna take it with me
When I go
Old long since gone
Now way back when
We lived in Coney Island
Ain't no good thing
Ever dies
I'm gonna take it with me
When I go
Far far away a train
Whistle blows
Wherever you're goin
Wherever you've been
Waving good bye at the end
Of the day
You're up and you're over
And you're far away
Always for you, and
Forever yours
It felt just like the old days
We fell asleep on Beaula's porch
I'm gonna take it with me
When I go
All broken down by
The side of the road
I was never more alive or
Alone
I've worn the faces off
All the cards
I'm gonna take it with me
When I go
Children are playing
At the end of the day
Strangers are singing
On our lawn
It's got to be more
Than flesh and bone
All that you're loved
Is all you own
In a land there's a town
And in that town there's
A house
And in that house
There's a woman
And in that woman
There's a heart I love
I'm gonna take it
With me when I go
I'm gonna take it
With me when I go

tune of the day today (tuesday 2 may) is "talking parrot" by count lasher with charlie binger and his calypsonians.
the song recalls a cautionary tale about having it off with any married woman who has a talking parrot, and having listened to the story in the song that's something i certainly won't be doing again.
http://www.bravecaptain.co.uk/temp/talking_parrot.mp3
the track was featured on phil jupitus' radio 6 music breakfast show last week and is available on a new jamaican mento compilation on trojan records. |

An album again,
Thursday - A City By The Light Divided.
There's something abotu this band that makes them more than just another Nu-Metal act. _________________ We would like to announce that due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off..... |
