I can confirm it Tommy, the Intertoto Cup qualifiers start on Saturday.
Dinaburg v HB Torshavn 15.00
Tampere United v Carmarthen 15.00
Trans Narva v Kalmar FF 16.00
Marco Van Basten looks exactly the same now as he did in 1988. He is defying mother nature and should be burnt as a witch. |

ah, great - we're on page 105
australia vs. japan just ended. in my opinion it was the best game in the tournament so far. japan's first (and only) goal really should have been disallowed in my opinion, their player clearly pushed schwarzer (australian goalkeeper) off the ball.
anyway, i can't complain too much because that made the game a lot more exciting. australia were really strong on the first half after japan had scored, but somehow lost the control on the second half, and i thought that japan would get all three points from this game. anyway, looks like mr hiddink (australia coach) made the right substitutions this time - tim cahill scored the deserved equaliser on the 85th minute (and what on earth was the japanese goalkeeper doing?!) and 4 minutes later scored a real beauty - an accurate shot from 20m that went in off the post, i can't believe that the japanese defenders gave him so much space before the shot though.
the last goal by john aloisi was very nice too, but again, a bit of a blunder by the japanese defender.
off to watch USA vs. czech republic now...
isn't the world cup just great?

the world cup is great unless yer bets are going down the swannie. and mine are.....
though me heavy weights bets are on argentina to win. and italy to win. so one of them has to. please!
been remarkably atmosphere free at the grounds though, the czechs seemed to make some noise today but either the heat or the (possible) change in the people attending them is doing something to it. the ticket situation is a joke as well. whilst i agree the host nation should get a good share of tickets for each match its bloomin obvious that most who've bought tickets just wanna sell 'em on or will for a stupid price and its not just england fans are buying 'em off touts so they should give the visiting country's a far far bigger share of the tickets. i was lucky (or not) to have had enough england fans points to be guaranteed tickets for our matches at France '98 and it cost me £23 (though it could've been up to £340 if we'd got to the final) and people shouldn't have to shell out £600 for a group game.
oh and with pulis' imminent departure does anyone think O'Neil would fancy the job at Argyle? Think we'd be good for him n we play in green so he'd feel at home pretty quick.
tommy boo belated congratulations on winning the play offs. |

i would have been happier if ghana had won, though... but yeah, they were really quite poor.
usa were surprisingly weak as well, yesterday's game really proves that the fifa rankings don't mean anything. who knows what would have happened if reyna's shot that hit the post would have gone in though, but usa seemed to give up when czech rep scored their second goal.
well, hopefully togo beat the south koreans today and win the world cup.

Brazil were a real let down. That stadium was ace though.
I've become Dutch for the duration of the tournament. |

can't stand robben, so supporting holland is difficult. seems like half the teams have hateful chelsea players, though, which is a bit annoying. spain and czech republic it is.

I've always liked the Dutch, gaudy luminous orange shirts will never be out of fashion in my house. It's not a very fashionable house.
I want England to do well but England fans are an odd bunch, why do they boo Owen Hargreaves? OK, he's not Pele but I bet 99% of the people who are booing him have never seen him play a club game. He's won 4 league titles, the german double twice and a champions league so he must be doing something right. |

Did you see "our fans" on the News last night?
I sometimes wish we'd never qualify for another Cup ever again, so I don't have to be connected with this minority of absolute fuckwits. _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

I dislike most of the Italian players playing right now, and this makes things difficult...supporting a team with players you don't like. It's kind of like if Juve had 8 Alan Shearers, that would be tough.

Sounds like when Dave Basset managed Sheffield Utd. Got result but I couldn't watch us play. What's up with Alan Shearer?
I started a Pro Evo game last night, Brazil v Croatia. I played alright, nothing special save for a Kaka curler (beautiful goal). Something appears wrong with my main striker though, he looks the size of a beached whale and moves twice as slow. I'm sure I told that chunky git to lose some weight before my PES international tournament kicked off.

Haha, I don't think there's anyone in the Italy squad that I like... and only the fact that they've got Francesco Totti in their team is a good enough reason to dislike them. Argh, after seeing him cheating and whining in the Ghana match I dislike him even more now.
Alan Shearer was alright, a bit too arrogant though and a bit of a cheat too.
