Elevate Myself - Grandaddy

I quite like their latest and last album.
Which surprised me becasue I wasn't fond of Sumday at all really.

I adored Sumday and am really enjoying the new one. "Guide Down Denied" is one of the best songs I've heard all year.

I still haven't bought The Sophtware Slump though. Shocked

I do like the mood of Just Like the Fambly Cat. The band winding down and finishing. Goodbyes are pretty powerful things aren't they. Which is why the end of ET, the greatest goodbye of all time, is the best moment in any film ever.

Plus I reckon the tunes themselves are up there with The Sophtware Slump (which you should really get yourself a copy of Melz).

U2 - Beautiful Day

Not just the tune of the day either, quite possibly the tune of my LIFE.

Surprised Fair enough, Kinkster...

My tune of the day is of course Goalscoringsuperstarhero 2006 (the official theme tune of Sensible Soccer 2006)

Very cheesy but brilliant, beats Embrace's lame World Cup tune easily... Smile

Exclamation

Haha! I'd love to hear that mixed with the rap from New Order's "World In Motion". Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'll probably get a copy of The Sophtware Slump next month when I have a few quid. I think it was £5.99 in Music Zone last time I looked.

Right now, it's Chicane - Offshore '97
The one with the vocal on it. It has a feeling of desperation about it, like all this dancing and E's and what have you is just trying to blank out the fact that everything is wrong and there really is no future.

I'm not a huge fan of "dance" music, but around then there was some good stuff. This, Way Out West's The Gift and Lamb's Gorecki. Add to that Sounds of the Satelites by Laika (must have been around then) All go to show that electronic music can have feeling.

The're also great tracks to chill out to on summer evenings.

I expect the mood will change soon - I've got a Black Sabbath box set coming!

well I've had 'on Saturday Morning We Will Rule the World' by James Dean Bradfield buzzing round my head all day. I visited Che yesterday and was allowed the privilege of plugging into his ipod to listen to The Great Western in the delightful setting of a park in Bedford!

any one of the songs on that new hope of the states album could be my tune of the day and i expect it to remain that way for a couple of weeks. What a great album. Blood Meridian, industry and Left are amazing.

Am I the only one who doesn't get what all the fuss is about over Hope Of The States?

I am? Oh.
