| Paul McGrath... easily the best player I've seen in an Ireland shirt in my time watching football |

I put a fiver on us to win the league today at 40/1. I'm assuming our piss poor performance on Sunday was just a way of lullling our title rivals into a false sense of security. I am a fool. |
we're 100/1 with skybet, accroding to oddschecker.com. i'm not really tempted. i expect it will get better but it's asking too much to win it now.
that was interesting. thanks. |

i just started reading the paul mcgrath autobiography. He is the best player i've ever seen playing for villa. It has the makings of a pretty grim account of how things were for him. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |

looks like they could do with a Paul McGrath in his prime today, as the league's last unbeaten record looks set to fall; Liverpool 3 goals up at halftime.
then again, the way Liverpool have let Galatasaray and Reading back into games that they had won recently means I'm not celebrating yet

| Wahey, we're Brazil again. Still there was some buffoon on the radio slagging us off because we 'only' scored 3 when we should have scored 7. I don't agree with rules outlawing flag burning but I do think that anyone who voices a ridiculous opinion on a football phone in show should be publicly hung. |

three good Liverpool goals and a good performance against a side who've got draws against Arsenal and Chelsea away this season. And all the media can talk about today is whether or not Gerrard will leave. C**ts.
for once, I wished I'd seen a game from Serie A; Inter Milan 4-3 AC Milan yesterday
and while on the subject of Italian football...

give out reasonable, if a little lenient, punishments, to the agreement of most of the watching footballing world, then, slowly, keep reducing the penalties

Apparently Italian top flight attendences are down this year cos Juventus aren't there so it's in everyones interest to get them back up there asap so chairmen don't keep losing out on cash which is rightfully theres.
If Michel Platini gets to be head of UEFA he'd like the European Cup to go back to the old format i.e. just the champions in and have a home and away knockout format. That would be amazing, much more entertaining than the group stages which the top seeds always get through from anyway. But it probably won't happen cos the G14 clubs would lose cash and would threaten to pull out and have their own competition. Boo and hiss. |

I still don't think Juve's punishment was lenient, Milan's was, but not Juve's...I mean, it's the first time ever they're out of the Serie A.
As for other clubs wanting Juve up again, I could imagine Serie B clubs wanting Juve to stay as their attendances have shot through the roof (kind of) because of Juventus.

| I can't go to the match tonight cos I'm going to see Mitchell and Webb, was gutted when I realised it clashed. It should be a decent game though, PSV are on a great run at the moment and if we weren't the best team in the world ever at home then I'd be slightly worried. |

Until I hear otherwise I'm going to assume Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum is investing in Liverpool cos he's a boyhood fan of the team and he grew up with pictures of Gary Ablett on his walls.

Hey I've been to Home Park and no disrespect but the way you played the two times I've been the one category I wouldn't put you in is football.
We need a "Safe As Pasties" thread... |
Ay and todays performance will probably not have changed that. I think its 8 or 9 games since we last beat you so yer there with Leeds as our current bogey side.
I'd wanted to go this season 'cos i haven't been to the Nat F'ball Museum, thankfully a 4 yr olds birthday party was one that I had to attend and it seems that playing hungry hippos was clearly a better use of my time today!
Off for an oggie... _________________ Britain... It's not that Great! |
