John, to be fair we are a marginally better team now than when Robson took over. We should never have signed Kanu, I would rather have signed 3 grafters.

It will be interesting to see what happens to us when we get relegated. The long suffering feeling in my heart feels that we will go back to lower half of the championship mediocrity.

But Hey it is early on a Tuesday!

sent off for tickets at the weekend; not heard yet. odd allocation where people who've been to either of the home games in the league cup get the same priority as season ticket holders who've been to one of those, and more than season ticket holders who haven't.

i assume morientes will be eligible as he played against watford. Wink

I also reckon we'll beat Chelsea but this is based on nothing more than blind faith. Plus, we were better than them in the game at Anfield. Is Robben reallly that good? From what I've read people are talking about him like he's a cross between Pele and Maradona and without him Chelsea are nowhere near as good.

I'd rather Arsenal won the league cos they're good to watch and aren't Man U.

The Kanu signing did seem a bit odd but sometimes signings like those work out (Okocha (spellling??) and a couple of the other non-Diouf signings at Bolton spring to mind)..

Barnsley FC have been unbeaten for 13 matches now and Finland have just beaten Latvia 1-2. Excellent.

Just had a look at the league table, Barnsley could definitely get in the play offs if they carry on like that. Poor old MK Dons, second from bottom. It would appear that abandoning your fans and moving somewhere else isn't the way to happiness.

I saw the game at the weekend, it was as bad a performance as I can remember, no spirit at all. I thought we'd come out charged up in the second half but it was just more of the same. The team looked so stale and lacking in ideas. Apart from Morrientes the starting line up was made up of players who've been at the club for 3 or 4 years, we need some decent new players but I don't see how we can afford if we don't get in the Champions League next year. Maybe some of the Spanish players will be battle hardened next year and more used to English football, Pires and Henry didn't set the world alight when they first came to England.

probably too generous to suggest that they had the next 2 games on their minds? as for the Spanish players... Josemi, started well, has looked a bit pish since... Garcia, is like a Spanish (duh) Smicer, in that he's a bit lightweight... Nunez, not seen enough to judge... Alonso, a class act, sadly missed from the team now... and Morientes, well, no comment needed. oh, and tho he's not Spanish, Pellegrino, um, not seen enough either! hope he's not the new Laurent Blanc tho

and yet I still think they need a further 3-4 new players for next season, assuming Gerrard doesn't leave. this is the least you'd want for the starting XI: Carson [or new keeper], Finnan, Carragher, [new centreback with pace], [new leftback], Kewell (if fit), Gerrard, Alonso, [new right sided midfielder], Morientes, Baros

CL qualification is a must Confused

...unless Gerrard goes to Chelsea..................... and convinces Abramovich to ditch Chelsea and invest in Liverpool instead Rolling Eyes

Could this be the worst signing ever?

Chelsea to appeal against Cudicini's red card.

I wonder if that's just coz they think it's unfair on him to miss the League Cup final. It looked like a red card offence to me, so it shouldn't matter. Players have missed more important matches.

the thing is, would it be better for Liverpool to have him instead of Petr Cech to face? hmm...
