I dislike most of the Italian players playing right now, and this makes things difficult...supporting a team with players you don't like. It's kind of like if Juve had 8 Alan Shearers, that would be tough. |
I'm glad West Ham are only my "second" team, as they've signed some real stinkers in the time I've been following football. Iain Dowie, Nigel Winterburn, Lee Bowyer, Teddy Sheringham, Roy Carroll, etc |

Yeah I second that! A bit arrogant and a cheat...does he need to murder babies for you to consider him not alright.
For anyone who wants to know, those two qualities in Shearer are enough for me not to like him...and they are the main reasons.
I used to tell friends I loved Juve that much that if Shearer played in Juve I'd support him. But it would be so hard!
There are a few players in Italy I like, Buffon, Zambrotta, Camoranesi and Del Piero and Cannavaro. There are quite a few I'm okay with but I don't warm too much to Totti, Pirlo, Gattuso, Gilardino, Perrotta etc...there are various reasons and most of them are not connected to particular bad qualities...like Pirlo, I don't know anything about him but I have trouble 'embracing' him.
Anyway, this has never happened to me before.
I still respect Totti for his gesture towards DiCanio and accept that he's good and bad in him (his joke books' profits went entirely to charity as well).
And Del Piero is a model footballer: a gentleman on and off the field, respects opponents, has never run around with 1000 Italian tv-models, has been loyal to his team...he feels different and this is probably why so many people like him, even those who do not like Juve.

haha well, I've never really liked him either, so maybe I shouldn't have used the word "alright", but the fact is that there are some players who are much more arrogant and cheat a lot more, so I was just trying to say that Alan Shearer wasn't
that
bad. And compared to Francesco Totti he's an angel.

Interesting news snippet (well I think so anyway):
England have won every match that Peter Crouch has appeared in, while they've won 10 and drawn one of the last 11 matches in which Wayne Rooney has not played. _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

I'm hoping for this to change soon. Crouch can never evolve as a human being if he does not know what it's like to lose (big).

He was a player at Southampton when they got relegated, and used to get booed when coming on the pitch for England......

Yeah, but it's still nothing compared to Martin Palermo who missed three penalties in one single game for Argentina

I don't know, it was in the Coppa America I think so a South American team, but all I remember from the incedent is thinking why you would take a third penalty when you'd missed two already.

Czech Rep vs. Ghana (0-2) today was magic! Exciting attacking football from end to end, it was easily the best game of the tournament so far. Ghana totally deserved to win too, in fact I think they should have scored a few goals more, only Peter Cech's amazing saves kept Czech Republic in game.
Portugal vs. Iran (2-0) earlier today was quite disappointing, especially because that twat C. Ronaldo scored a goal. Iran weren't that bad, but to be fair, Portugal deserved to win though...
WARNING!
THE REST OF THIS MESSAGE CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AND MAY UPSET LITTLE CHILDREN AND SETAREHS.
Watching Italy vs. USA now and I'm really quite fucking furious. I didn't like the Italians before this, but after only 35 minutes of this game I hate them now. What Danielle de Rossi just did was just shocking, that was a deliberate attempt to
murder
a fellow footballer for fuck's sake, I hope the twat gets banned for the rest of the tournament... and hopefully that's not very long - if USA win today, Italy could be knocked out if they lose their next game against the Czechs. Leonardo (Brazil) elbowed a USA player in a similar fashion in the World Cup '94
Oh well, Mastroeni of USA (or another Italian in disguise?) has just been sent off (didn't really deserve the red card in my opinion) so this won't be easy for them now. I really hope that USA win now though, or actually, I hope that the Italians lose. The cheating diving whining bastards. BOOOOOO (not Radleys)
Come on USA!
